NHL: Boston 5, Vancouver 2

BOSTON, June 13 (UPI) -- Brad Marchand ignited a four-goal, first-period outburst Monday and Boston forced a deciding Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals with a 5-2 win over Vancouver.

Marchand's scoring shot 5:31 into the game was the first of four Boston goals within a 5-minute span -- an onslaught that chased Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo and handed the Bruins a do-or-die victory.

Milan Lucic added a goal only 35 seconds later and an Andrew Ference power-play tally 2 1/2 minutes after that spelled the end for Luongo, who stopped 5-of-8 shots before being yanked.

Cory Schneider took over in net and yielded a goal to Michael Ryder a bit more than a minute later as the Bruins, facing elimination, forced a decisive game Wednesday in Vancouver.

David Krejci added a third-period goal and Tim Thomas tuned aside 36 of-38 shots in the Bruins' victory.

Henrik Sedin and Maxim Lapierre scored for the Canucks, who are 3-0 at home in the finals.

They finished 0-3 and were outscored 17-3 during the three road games in Boston.
