MILWAUKEE, June 12 (UPI) -- Prince Fielder bashed a go-ahead, two-run homer Sunday, lifting Milwaukee over St. Louis into first place with a 4-3 victory against the Cardinals.
Trailing 3-0 entering the sixth inning, the Brewers scored four times and then hung on to complete a three-game sweep of the Cardinals that vaulted them over St. Louis into the top spot of the National League Central.
Rickie Weeks began the rally with a walk off starter Jake Westbrook (6-4) and scored on Mark Kotsay's double. Kotsay then came home when the next batter, Ryan Braun, singled, cutting the Cards' lead to 3-2.
Fielder followed by socking a long homer to right on the first pitch he saw, giving him 19 homers and 58 RBI for the season.
Milwaukee's Shaun Marcum (7-2) yielded three runs on five hits in a seven-inning effort, walking two and striking out eight.
Kameron Loe tossed a scoreless eighth and John Axford picked up his 18th save to complete the victory.
Skip Schumaker knocked in a pair of runs for the Cardinals, who were swept at Miller Park for the first time since 2007.
