MLS: Chivas USA 1, Vancouver 1 (tie)

CARSON, Calif., June 2 (UPI) -- Camilo Sanvezzo scored Vancouver's tying goal in the 48th minute Wednesday and the Whitecaps overcame the loss of a man to earn a 1-1 draw with Chivas USA.

All the scoring came in a brief flurry at the start of the second half, but Vancouver's hopes for a second win this season all but ended when Eric Hassli was sent off in the 66th minute. He received a direct red card for making a late and dangerous tackle.

Nick LaBrocca scored for Chivas USA just moments after the break, but the lead lasted less than 2 minutes.

Vancouver, which is in last place in the Western Conference slipped to 1-5-7. The Whitecaps have not won since defeating Toronto in the first game of the season.

Chivas USA is 3-4-5.
