The second-year right-hander was aided by two double plays while making his eighth start of the year without a loss and lifted the Rangers to a victory in the first of a three-game series.

Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz, both fresh off the disabled list, each homered in their first game back. Hamilton smacked a solo shot in the first inning and Cruz bashed a two-run homer in the sixth.

John Danks (0-7) made his 10th start of the year without a win for Chicago. He allowed all four Texas runs on nine hits, walking two and fanning three in a complete-game loss.
