Choi, Kerr advance to match play semis

GLADSTONE, N.J., May 21 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Na Yeon Choi and No. 3 Cristie Kerr each won matches Saturday, advancing to the semifinals of the Sybase Match Play Championship.

Choi moved on by besting Sophie Gustafson 2-up. Kerr advanced by prevailing over Ai Miyazato 3 & 2.

Choi will now face fifth-seeded Suzann Pettersen, who made it into the semifinals by defeating world No. 1 Yani Tseng 1-up.

Kerr, meanwhile, now goes on to meet American Angela Stanford, who posted a 2-up win over Paula Creamer.
