DENVER, May 15 (UPI) -- Ryan Ludwick smacked a go-ahead three-run homer Sunday and the San Diego Padres went on to dispatch Colorado 8-2.
Ludwick's blast in the fourth inning erased a 1-0 deficit for the Padres, who took the rubber match of their three-game series against the Rockies.

Jason Bartlett added a two-run double to highlight a five-run Padres seventh.
Mat Latos (1-5) broke a personal five-game losing streak, holding the Rockies to one earned run on four hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings while fanning five.
Jason Hammel (3-3) was pounded for six runs on six hits in a 6 1/3-inning effort for Colorado, which lost for the eighth time in 10 games.
Todd Helton launched a solo homer for the Rockies.
