Kenseth's two-tire move pays off in win

DOVER, Del., May 15 (UPI) -- Matt Kenseth's decision to change only two tires during a late pit stop paid off Sunday with a victory in the FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway.

Kenseth's gamble enabled him to bypass both Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards, who led most of the way but lost time when they put on four tires each during the last round of pit stops under caution.

Mark Martin moved up from 14th to the lead after a restart with 34 laps to go, but Kenseth passed him and held the advantage over the final 32 laps, eventually besting Martin by 2.1 seconds.

Kenseth's win was his second of the season and the 20th of his Sprint Cup Series career.

Marcos Ambrose claimed the third spot, Kyle Busch ended in fourth and Brian Vickers finished in the fifth place.
