MLB: Milwaukee 5, Pittsburgh 2

MILWAUKEE, May 14 (UPI) -- Yovani Gallardo worked six innings Friday and drove in the go-ahead run as well to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh.

It was a 2-2 game heading into the bottom of the fourth but Corey Hart opened the inning with a double and scored when Gallardo singled to center off James McDonald (2-3).

The Brewers eventually loaded the bases and Ryan Braun drove in his second and third runs of the game with a single that closed the scoring. Braun also had an RBI on a fielder's choice grounder in the third after Jonathan Lucroy had hit a solo homer earlier in the inning.

Milwaukee won for the fourth time in six games. Gallardo (4-2) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out five.

John Axford collected his eighth save by striking out two in a perfect ninth.
