MLB: Colorado 12, San Diego 7

DENVER, May 14 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki had three of Colorado's 16 hits and drove in three runs Friday in powering the Rockies past San Diego 12-7.

Colorado built an 8-3 lead, saw its advantage cut to two and then scored three insurance runs in the eighth to win for only the second time in eight games.

Tulowitzki had a two-RBI single in a three-run first inning and added a solo homer in the fourth. Ryan Spilborghs also had three hits, reached on an error in the ninth and scored a run on a balk.

Jorge De La Rosa (5-1) was credited with the win by lasting 5 2/3 innings but he gave up five runs on nine hits.

Dustin Moseley (1-5) lasted only four innings while coughing up six runs on nine hits to take the loss.

San Diego's Cameron Maybin had four hits and homered twice.
