MLB: Detroit 10, Minnesota 2

MINNEAPOLIS, May 11 (UPI) -- Victor Martinez had three hits and four RBI Tuesday and Detroit beat Minnesota 10-2 in a game that was delayed by a storm that included high winds and hail.

The storm that blew into Target Field during the fourth inning delayed the game more than an hour and had the grounds crew using rakes and snow blowers to clear the outfield.

Rick Porcello (3-2) allowed one run on three hits over five innings to get the win for the Tigers, who have won seven of their last eight games. Brennan Boesch and Jhonny Peralta each had two RBI.

Francisco Liriano (2-5) started for the Twins but left in the third inning due to illness. He had followed up last week's no-hitter against the White Sox with a more-pedestrian four runs on three hits.

Rene Tosoni had a solo home run for the Twins in the fifth inning.
