MLB: Atlanta 8, Milwaukee 3 (1st game)

ATLANTA, May 4 (UPI) -- Tommy Hanson struck out seven Brewers over six innings Tuesday and the Atlanta Braves routed Milwaukee 8-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Hanson (4-3) allowed a pair of runs on three hits while walking two for the Braves, who won for the fifth time in seven games.

Martin Prado went 3-for-5, driving in three runs with an RBI single in the third inning and a two-run hit in the next frame.

Brian McCann added a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly, and Chipper Jones contributed a two-run knock in the Braves' win.

Brewers starter Marco Estrada (1-1) was roughed up for seven runs (six earned) on eight hits, issuing three walks to go with five strikeouts.

Prince Fielder hit a solo homer for Milwaukee.
