MLB: Atlanta 6, Milwaukee 2

ATLANTA, May 2 (UPI) -- Alex Gonzalez cracked a bases-clearing double to put Atlanta ahead Monday and the Braves went on to record a 6-2 victory over Milwaukee.

Trailing 2-1 entering the sixth, the Braves scored four times off Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo (2-2).

Chipper Jones walked, Dan Uggla singled and Freddie Freeman drew a base on balls to load the bases before Gonzalez sent them all home with a double to left field.

Gonzalez then scored on Nate McLouth's RBI single, completing the rally and making a winner of Jair Jurrjens (3-0). The Atlanta starter limited Milwaukee to two runs on seven hits during his 7 2/3-inning effort.

David Ross added a solo shot among two hits for Atlanta, which won the first of a four-game series against Milwaukee.

Gallardo was lifted after five-plus innings, charged with allowing five runs on nine hits.

Yuniesky Betancourt put the Brewers ahead with a two-run triple in the fourth inning.
