MLB: Pittsburgh 3, Colorado 0

DENVER, April 29 (UPI) -- Kevin Correia and three relievers teamed up for a five-hit shutout Friday in bringing Pittsburgh a 3-0 decision over Colorado.

The Rockies lost for just the eighth time this season, tied for fewest in the major leagues. They had won their previous two contests.

Correia (4-2) gave up three hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. He was followed to the mound by Jose Veras, Chris Resop and Joe Hanrahan.

Hanrahan allowed a hit in the ninth en route to his eighth save.

Andrew McCutchen hit a solo homer in the third and Garrett Jones had another one in the sixth. Ronny Cedeno tripled home Pedro Alvarez in the seventh to complete the scoring.

All three runs came off Jhoulys Chacin (3-2), who gave up six hits over seven innings.
