ORLANDO, Fla., April 26 (UPI) -- Jason Richardson scored 17 points Tuesday, helping the Orlando Magic log a 101-76 victory over Atlanta and avoid post-season elimination.
Richardson came back from a suspension for fighting in Game 3 and connected on a trio of 3-pointers while J.J. Redick netted 14 points off the bench for the Magic, who cut their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series deficit to 3-2.
Orlando superstar Dwight Howard was held to eight points and eight rebounds after getting into early foul trouble but Ryan Anderson helped out with 11 points and seven boards in a reserve role.
Josh Smith pumped in 22 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who shot 36.2 percent from the field and went 4-of-16 from 3-point territory.
They will again try to close out the series Thursday when the series shifts to Atlanta for Game 6.
