LAS VEGAS, April 26 (UPI) -- Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s Las Vegas trial on battery charges from an alleged incident with a security guard was postponed Tuesday.

The trial has been pushed back to September, but Mayweather still has another court date set for this week, a preliminary hearing on eight misdemeanor and felony charges resulting from a Sept. 9 dispute with his former girlfriend Josie Harris, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

That hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Clark County Superior Court.

The misdemeanor battery charge trial that was postponed is the result of a Nov. 15 confrontation over parking tickets between the undefeated Mayweather and a security guard outside Mayweather's Southern Highlands home.

If convicted of the battery charge, Mayweather faces a six-month jail sentence and a $1,000 fine.

The charges Mayweather will face Thursday include felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery, and misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend and stealing her cellphone during an argument in front of their three children.
