MLS: Seattle 1, Colorado 0

COMMERCE CITY, Colo., April 23 (UPI) -- Fredy Montero scored the game's only goal Friday to give the Seattle Sounders a 1-0 win over Colorado in a contest marred by a major injury.

Seattle winger Steve Zakuani was taken down by a dangerous challenge from Brian Mullan in the third minute and was taken to a local hospital with what club officials said appeared to be a broken leg.

Mullan was given a direct red card and Colorado played with only 10 men the rest of the way.

Montero's goal came in the 19th minute. He had not scored since last Aug. 28.

Seattle (2-2-3) won on the road for the first time this season and is unbeaten in its last five games.

Colorado (3-3-0) dropped its third straight.
