MLB: Minnesota 10, Cleveland 3

MINNEAPOLIS, April 23 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel drove in three runs to back Brian Duensing's seven solid innings Saturday in the Minnesota Twins' 10-3 victory over Cleveland.

Kubel's two-run double in the third inning staked Minnesota to a 3-0 lead and he added a sacrifice fly in the sixth as the Twins won the opener of a rain-abbreviated two-game series at Target Field.

Danny Valencia added a two-run homer while Jason Repko and Justin Morneau each contributed two RBI for Minnesota, which scored more than five runs in a game for the first time this season.

Duensing (2-0) limited the Indians to one run on five hits, walking one and striking out three.

Cleveland's Fausto Carmona (1-3) was lit up for six runs on seven hits in a five-inning start, issuing four walks as the first-place Indians lost their second straight.

Grady Sizemore belted a two-run homer for the Tribe.
