NBA: Miami 97, Toronto 79

TORONTO, April 13 (UPI) -- Eddie House had a career-best performance Wednesday in leading Miami to a big fourth quarter that gave the Heat a 97-79 victory over Toronto.

The Heat ended the regular season with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference (58-24). Miami will open the playoffs with a series against the Philadelphia 76ers beginning Saturday.

House hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-best 35 points. He made 14-of-27 shots from the field.

None of Miami's three big stars -- Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James -- played in the contest.

Miami had only a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but limited Toronto to 10 points in the closing 12 minutes.

Jerryd Bayless scored 21 points for the Raptors, who finished with the second-worst record in the East at 22-60.
