NHL: St. Louis 4, Edmonton 0

ST. LOUIS, March 24 (UPI) -- Jaroslav Halak needed to make only 12 saves while picking up his sixth shutout of the season Thursday when the St. Louis Blues beat Edmonton 4-0.

It was the 15th career shutout for Halak, who protected a 1-0 lead into the third period before St. Louis broke things open to win for the second time in six games.

The game was scoreless until T.J. Oshie scored unassisted on a wrist shot with 1:32 to go in the second period. Matt D'Agostini, Chris Stewart and Adam Cracknell all scored in the third, the first two goals coming on the power play.

Nikolai Khabibulin surrendered the four goals on 30 shots. Edmonton lost its eighth in a row.
