EDMONTON, Alberta, March 18 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov took a shutout into the third period and made 35 saves Thursday in carrying the Phoenix Coyotes to a 3-1 victory over Edmonton.
The Coyotes, who began the night tied for fourth place with Los Angeles in the Western Conference playoff chase, won their fourth straight.

Phoenix had a 2-0 advantage going into the third period thanks to goals from Lee Stempniak and Ray Whitney.
Magnus Paajarvi broke up Bryzgalov's shutout bid 6:05 into the third but Radim Vrbata restored a two-goal lead for the Coyotes with a power-play tally.
Nikolai Khabibulin gave up three goals on just 17 shots while the Oilers were losing their fifth straight.
