NHL: St. Louis 4, Columbus 3 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 9 (UPI) -- Chris Stewart completed a St. Louis rally by scoring 54 seconds into overtime Wednesday, bringing the Blues a 4-3 victory over Columbus.

The Blue Jackets let a three-goal lead slip away and missed out on a vital point in their bid to climb back into a playoff position. Columbus is six points out of a post-season spot and St. Louis is two points further behind the Blue Jackets.

Stewart had scored the tying goal, tipping in a shot by David Backes with 13:37 to play in the third period.

Alex Pietrangelo cut the St. Louis deficit to 3-1 late in the second period and Ian Cole continued the comeback on a slap shot 2:32 into the third.

Columbus came up with goals by Jakub Voracek, R.J. Umberger and Derek MacKenzie over the game's first 8:07.

The win went to Jaroslav Halak, who made 19 saves.

Mathieu Garon stopped 22 shots for Columbus, which has lost six in a row. All but one of those losses have been by a single goal.
