NBA: New Orleans 95, Minnesota 81

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Trevor Ariza paced a balanced New Orleans attack Friday and the Hornets overcame a history-making effort by Kevin Love to down Minnesota 95-81.

Love recorded a double-double for the 45th straight game, the NBA's longest such streak during a single season.

Philadelphia's Moses Malone had 44 straight such performances during the 1982-83 campaign. Malone still holds the overall record of 51 straight double-doubles, but they came over the span of the 1979-79 and 1979-80 seasons.

New Orleans took a 12-point halftime lead and coasted during the final two periods while winning its second straight. The two consecutive wins have come after the Hornets had lost seven of eight.

Ariza had 18 points, Chris Paul added 17 and eight assists and Jarrett Jack scored 13 points off the bench.

Love scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Wesley Johnson and Luke Ridnour both had 22 points for the Timberwolves, who have lost seven in a row.
