NHL: San Jose 4, Detroit 3

DETROIT, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Devin Setoguchi scored a pair of goals Tuesday and the San Jose Sharks continued their monthlong hot streak with a 4-3 decision over Detroit.

Setoguchi's first tally with less than 2 minutes left in the second period put San Jose ahead for good at 3-2 and he added a much-needed insurance marker 13:12 into the final frame.

Joe Thornton assisted on both Setoguchi goals and added a tally of his own, Ryane Clowe also found the net and Antti Niemi turned aside 35-of-38 shots for the Sharks, who improved to 9-2-0 in February.

Henrik Zetterberg scored on a power play to pull the Red Wings to within a goal with 1:51 remaining in the third, but Central Division-leading Detroit could get no closer.

Danny Cleary scored twice and Jimmy Howard stopped 39-of-43 shots in the Red Wings' setback.
