OTTAWA, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Bobby Butler scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season Wednesday to propel Ottawa to its first home win of 2011, a 5-1 decision over Florida.
The Senators had lost 10 in a row at home, last winning Dec. 26 when they downed Pittsburgh 3-1. That was also the last time Ottawa had won back-to-back games, which they have now done again with victories over Toronto and the Panthers.
Craig Anderson allowed only a second-period goal and made 23 saves to get the win.
Butler opened the scoring midway through the first period and his wrist shot with 9:22 to go in the second gave the Senators a 3-1 lead.
Milan Michalek and Jason Spezza tallied less than 2 minutes apart in the third to break open the game.
All five Ottawa goals were scored against Scott Clemmensen, who made 34 saves. Florida has lost four out of five.
