NBA: Denver 94, Milwaukee 87

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A 38-point effort by Carmelo Anthony combined with solid defense down the stretch Wednesday brought Denver a 94-87 victory over Milwaukee.

The Nuggets finished the game on an 11-1 run, holding the Bucks scoreless over the final 78 seconds.

Anthony made 16-of-30 shots over 44 minutes on a busy evening that also saw him grab 10 rebounds. Chauncey Billups added 20 points and Kenyon Martin had 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Denver ended a two-game skid.

Milwaukee, which lost for the eighth time in 20 games, came up with a season-best 33 points from John Salmons.
