COL BKB: Syracuse 63, West Virginia 52

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Syracuse head Coach Jim Boeheim notched his 850th career win Monday while guiding the 20th-ranked Orange to a 63-52 victory over West Virginia.

Brandon Triche scored 20 points, Kris Joseph contributed 16 points and five rebounds and Rick Jackson added 10 and nine for Syracuse (21-6, 8-6 Big East), which broke a three-game home losing streak.

Boeheim became just the fifth Division I coach to win 850 games, joining Bob Knight, Mike Krzyzewski, Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp on the list.

The Mountaineers (16-9, 7-6) fell to 1-3 during a nine-game stretch in which they are facing seven nationally-ranked opponents.

Casey Mitchell netted 23 points and John Flowers contributed 10 as the Mountaineers remained winless at Syracuse since 1996.
