HOUSTON, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- The Dallas Mavericks resumed their winning ways Saturday, using 22 points apiece from Dirk Nowitzki and Peja Stojakovic to knock off Houston 106-102.
In putting aside a one-point loss Thursday at Denver that interrupted their 10-game win streak, the Mavericks shook off a slow start that saw them trail 25-23 after the first period. They took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Rockets 34-19 for a 57-44 halftime bulge.
After extending their lead another three points in the third period, the Mavs withstood a Houston rally in which the Rockets outscored them 35-23.
Dallas got another 14 points from Shawn Marion and 12 from Tyson Chandler.
Houston was led by Kyle Lowry with a game-high 26 points.
The Rockets have now lost five of their last eight.
