NBA: Denver 109, Portland 90

DENVER, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Nene led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday and launched Denver on a late flurry that gave the Nuggets a 109-90 win over Portland.

Denver trailed by a point late in the third period but finished the quarter on a 10-2 run and then dominated the fourth quarter to snap a two-game skid.

Both Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups had 20 points and the Nuggets shot 51 percent from the field.

Portland lost for the third time in four games and could not follow up its 13-point victory over the league-leading San Antonio Spurs Tuesday.

Wesley Matthews led Portland with 19 points. LaMarcus Aldridge had 18.

Denver outrebounded Portland by 15 and held the Trail Blazers to 42 percent shooting.
