NHL: Minnesota 4, Chicago 2

CHICAGO, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Niklas Backstrom made 31 saves and shut Chicago out over the final two periods Tuesday in the Minnesota Wild's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Four different players scored for the Wild, who won for the fourth time in their last five games and moved to within one game of second place in the NHL Northwest Division.

Antti Miettinen scored the eventual game-winner at 16:13 of the second period, breaking a 2-2 tie, and Backstrom was perfect against 10 shots in the third period to secure the win.

Martin Havlat scored in the first period for Minnesota. Chuck Kobasew and Pierre-Marc Bouchard also scored.

Patrick Sharp and Troy Brouwer put Chicago ahead 2-1 with a pair of first-period goals. Corey Crawford gave up all four Minnesota goals on 22 shots.
