Woodland, Vegas still tied for Bob Hope

LA QUINTA, Calif., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Gary Woodland and Jhonattan Vegas remained tied atop the leaderboard of the Bob Hope Classic Saturday after both fired 6-under 66s.

Woodland and Vegas -- both trying to corral their first PGA wins -- carried over their deadlock from Friday's third round to Saturday's fourth. They finished 72 holes knotted at 24-under 264, two strokes clear of the field.

Vegas forged the tie by birdying his last five holes at La Quinta Country Club, and Woodland's 10-foot birdie putt at the ninth on the Palmer Private Course at PGA West allowed him to be the first to go to 24-under.

Martin Laird held sole possession of third place at minus-22 with a 6-under 66.

Meanwhile, defending champion Bill Haas (62) charged into a tie for fourth place with Chris Kirk (66), Daniel Summerhays (64) and Keegan Bradley (66). All of them finished at 21-under 267.
