Lamely, 30, moved up the leaderboard thanks to his 7-under par performance during a six-hole span that started with a two-putt birdie on the par-5 second hole and ended when he grabbed the lead with a 14-foot birdie putt on No. 7.

A group of six players, including Boo Weekley and Ricky Barnes, shared fourth place at minus-7.

The first four rounds of the Bob Hope Classic have been spread over four courses -- Palmer Course at PGA West, the Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West, the La Quinta Country Club and the Palmer Course at SilverRock Resort.
