NBA: New Orleans 103, Memphis 102 (OT)

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Marcus Thornton scored on a layup with 6.6 seconds to play in overtime Wednesday, bringing the New Orleans Hornets a 103-102 victory over Memphis.

The Hornets rallied from a 15-point deficit early in the second half to win their sixth straight.

Emeka Okafor lifted New Orleans into a 92-92 tie with 23 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Hornets' Trevor Ariza then ensured overtime when he stole the ball from Mike Conley.

After Thornton made his layup late in the extra period, Rudy Gay missed a 15-foot jumper at the buzzer for the Grizzlies.

Chris Paul had 20 points and 12 assists to lead New Orleans. David West added 19 points and Thornton had 17.

Both Conley and Gay scored 22 for Memphis, which has lost four out of six.
