BOSTON, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Jose Theodore made 35 saves and won his third straight start Thursday in carrying the Minnesota Wild to a 3-1 win over Boston.
Filling in for the injured Niklas Backstrom, Theodore has helped the Wild to its second three-game winning streak of the season. Minnesota also remained unbeaten in games played in Boston. Since the Wild joined the NHL in 2000, they are 6-0 on the Bruins' home ice.
The only goal allowed by Theodore was a game-tying score from Steven Kampfer midway through the second period.
Cal Clutterbuck put Minnesota in front 2:22 into the third period and Theodore protected the lead until Mikko Koivu scored into an empty net with 43 seconds left.
Tuukka Rask took the loss while stopping 31-of-33 shots.
Clutterbuck has scored 12 goals this season, one shy of the career-best total he reached last year.
