COL BKB: St. John's 61, Georgetown 58

NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Justin Brownlee tipped in a driving layup by Dwight Hardy with 7 seconds left Monday and St. John's upended No. 13 Georgetown 61-58.

After Jason Clark had given Georgetown a 58-57 lead with a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left, Hardy drove the lane but missed the the layup. Brownlee was right there for the rebound and put-back for the Red Storm, however.

Hardy (20 points) then sank a pair of foul shots to ice the win, the first in 14 tries over a ranked opponent for the Red Storm (10-3, 3-0 Big East).

Brownlee finished with 15 points for the Red Storm, who forced 13 turnovers.

Hollis Thompson led the Hoyas (12-3, 1-2) with 16 points and six rebounds.
