COL BKB: Memphis 91, Tennessee State 86

MEMPHIS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Antonio Barton and Tarik Black teamed up to score 46 points Sunday and No. 22 Memphis survived a late scare to turn back Tennessee State 91-86.

Barton scored 24 points, Black added 22 and Will Barton contributed 19 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers (11-2).

Kenny Moore's layup with 2 minutes left pulled Tennessee State to within a single point at 82-81, but Wesley Witherspoon answered with a 3-point play and Antonio Barton sank four foul shots down the stretch to preserve the Tigers' win.

Moore ended with 22 points and Wil Peters chipped in with 17 and seven assists for Tennessee State (6-8).
