COL BKB: Louisville 78, Gardner-Webb 49

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Preston Knowles canned six 3-pointers en route to 24 points Saturday and No. 21 Louisville got back on the winning track with a 78-49 win over Gardner-Webb.

Knowles also pulled down nine rebounds for the Cardinals (9-1), who shot 50.8 percent from the floor as they bounced back from their first loss of the season -- an upset at the hands of Drexel Tuesday.

Louisville connected on 11 treys overall.

The Cardinals also got tough defense from Gorgui Dieng, who blocked seven shots to go along with eight points and 11 rebounds while helping hold Gardner-Webb to 31.6 percent shooting from the field.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (6-8) were led by Laron Buggs's 16 points.
