TORONTO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Backup goaltender Brian Boucher allowed only a second-period goal and made 31 saves Thursday in leading Philadelphia to a 4-1 victory over Toronto.

Boucher appeared for the ninth time this season in relief of Sergei Bobrovsky and picked up his fourth victory.

Danny Briere scored his 15th and 16th goals of the year, both coming in the second period, to help the Flyers bounce back from a disappointing showing 24 hours earlier.

Philadelphia let a three-goal get away Wednesday against San Jose and eventually lost in a shootout.

Briere's first goal gave the Flyers a 3-0 lead midway through the second period and Mikhail Grabovski recorded Toronto's only score 4 minutes later. Briere then put a backhander past Jean-Sebastien Giguere with 2:43 to go in the stanza.

Giguere stopped 24-of-28 shots.
