The capper to Nash's hat trick came on an empty-net score in the closing seconds as the Blue Jackets were wrapping up only their second all-time win in San Jose.

Garon stopped five Sharks power plays and collected his third shutout this season as Columbus won at HP Pavilion for the first time since January 2004 and improved to 7-1-0 on the road.

Antero Niittymaki turned aside 24-of-26 shots for San Jose.
