NBA: Golden State 85, Utah 78

OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis scored 23 points Friday and the Golden State Warriors took part in a rare defensive struggle while downing Utah 85-78.

The normally high-scoring Warriors won for the fourth time in five games despite shooting only 37 percent from the field. They made just 2-of-15 attempts from 3-point range.

Utah went almost 3 minutes without a point in the third period and close to 4 minutes without one in the fourth, but Golden State still could not break the game open. The Jazz were within five points with 90 seconds to play but Stephen Curry made four free throws down the stretch to help Golden State survive.

Curry had 20 points and David Lee added 14 for the Warriors. Utah was led by Deron Williams with 23.
