TORONTO, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Mike Fisher scored on a penalty shot Tuesday and the Ottawa Senators hung on to post a 3-2 victory over Toronto.
Fisher's score with 3 minutes to go in the first period broke a scoreless tie and the Senators extended their lead to 3-0 with second-period power play tallies by Sergei Gonchar and Erik Karlsson.
Brian Elliott let in a pair of Maple Leafs goals in the final frame, however, including a power-play marker from Clarke MacArthur with 51 seconds remaining. But he then shut the door, turning aside 33-of-35 for the game to earn the win.
The Senators broke a five-game losing streak against the Maple Leafs with the victory.
Francois Beauchemin got the other goal for Toronto and Jean-Sebastien Giguere saved 21-of-24 Ottawa shots in the Leafs' loss.
