STARKVILLE, Miss., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Quarterback Chris Relf ran up the middle for a go-ahead, 4-yard score Saturday and No. 23 Mississippi State edged Kentucky 24-17.
With the score tied 17-17, Relf scored to cap seven-play, 63-yard drive and give the Bulldogs the lead with 10:33 to go.
Relf went 7-of-16 passing for 111 yards and rushed 16 times for 79 yards for Mississippi State (7-2, 3-2 SEC), which won its sixth straight contest.
Vick Ballard contributed 103 rushing yards and a touchdown while Arceto Clark hauled down a TD pass for the victors.
Wildcats quarterback Mike Hartline completed 23-of-41 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. But he surrendered three interceptions.
Randall Cobb hauled down 12 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown for Kentucky (4-5, 1-5).
