NBA: Oklahoma City 105, Detroit 104

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Jeff Green's layup with 2.5 seconds remaining Friday lifted Oklahoma City to a 105-104 triumph over Detroit.

Oklahoma City held a narrow lead for most of the second half, but the Pistons closed within one in the final minute and Kevin Durant could make only 1-of-2 foul shots with 14 seconds left to leave the Thunder with a 103-101 advantage.

Charlie Villanueva then put the Pistons in front on a 3-pointer that came with 7 seconds to play.

Following a time out, Green looked for Durant but found him well covered. Green kept the ball and headed to the basket for a layup off the glass that gave Oklahoma City its second win in as many games this season.

Durant scored 30 points and Green had 21. Russell Westbrook chipped in 17 points and 11 assists for Oklahoma City.

Ben Gordon came off the bench to lead Detroit with 32 points. The Pistons have lost their opening two games in a season for the first time in 11 years.

Oklahoma City has defeated Detroit four straight times after losing their previous eight meetings.
