NBA: Minnesota 96, Milwaukee 85

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Michael Beasley scored 21 points Friday and Minnesota used a run late in the second quarter to take control in a 96-85 victory over Milwaukee.

Beasley made 8-of-14 shots and had 10 rebounds, helping bring the Timberwolves their first win of the season.

The Bucks led by one with 5:52 to go in the second period, but Minnesota closed the first half on a 17-6 run to take a 56-46 advantage at the break.

Minnesota led by as many as 17 in the third period and Milwaukee could come no closer than six points during the fourth.

Kevin Love added 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves and Luke Ridnour had 13 points against his former team.

Corey Maggette paced the Bucks with 23 points off the bench. Milwaukee has lost its first two games.
