NBA: San Antonio 122, Indiana 109

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan scored seven points while San Antonio was pulling away in the fourth quarter Wednesday en route to a 122-109 win over Indiana.

The Pacers had an 83-82 lead with 4:26 to go in the third period and San Antonio outscored them by 14 the rest of the way.

Duncan finished with 23 points, making 10-of-12 from the field. Manu Ginobili had 22 and Tony Parker 20. The Spurs shot 50 percent and made 9-of-20 from 3-point range.

Indiana hit 53 percent of its field goal attempts, but made 10 fewer free throws than San Antonio and turned the ball over nine more times than did the Spurs.

Roy Hibbert led Indiana with 28 points and Danny Granger had 26.

San Antonio opened its season in search of its 12th straight 50-win campaign. The Spurs have won in each of Indiana's last nine trips to San Antonio.
