NHL: Florida 4, New York Islanders 3

SUNRISE, Fla., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Radek Dvorak scored with 6:32 left in the game to put Florida ahead and the Panthers hung on Saturday for a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.

Tomas Vokoun earned the win by stopping 30-of-33 shots -- including all 10 shots he faced in the third period -- and Mike Weaver had a goal and an assist as the Panthers won for the third time in four games.

David Booth and Steve Bernier also scored in Florida's win.

The game marked the first career hat trick for the Islanders' John Tavares, the first overall pick in the 2009 draft.

Rick DiPietro was touched for four goals on 30 shots for New York, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
