Andrew Alberts, Mikael Samuelsson (two assists) and Ryan Kesler added goals in the one-sided victory, in which the Canucks broke out of a slump that saw them score only seven goals in their previous four games.

Cory Schneider was solid in net, stopping 32-of-33 Carolina shots.

Patrick O'Sullivan tallied the Hurricanes' only goal. Cam Ward allowed five goals on 28 shots faced in the setback, which dropped Carolina to 1-6-2 in its last nine games at Vancouver.
