DETROIT, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Rick Porcello limited Minnesota to one run over eight innings Sunday and the Detroit Tigers completed a three-game sweep, downing the Twins 5-1.
Porcello (10-11) surrendered four hits, struck out five and walked one, allowing only a solo homer to Delmon Young in his effective outing. Porcello, who raised his record to 5-0 in his six starts, threw 69 strikes among his 108 pitches.
Ramon Santiago blasted a three-run homer and Miguel Cabrera contributed a two-run shot for the Tigers in their final home game of the year. Detroit ended with a stellar 52-29 record at Comerica Park.
Minnesota starter Brian Duensing (10-3) was roughed up for five runs on seven hits, walking four in 6 2/3 innings for the American League Central champion Twins.
