LYON, France, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The doubles team of Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra posted a win Saturday, boosting France past Argentina and into the Davis Cup final.

France had been handed a 2-0 cushion thanks to a pair of singles victories from Llodra and Gael Monfils, and the doubles win put them over the top.

France achieved the Davis Cup finals for the first time since 2002 by defeating Germany and Spain in the first two rounds. They will play the winner of this weekend's other semifinal between the Czech Republic and Serbia.

France, which has won the Davis Cup nine times, lost to Russia in its last finals appearance in 2002.

Argentina fell in its first Davis Cup meeting against France since 1982.
