LYON, France, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Michael Llodra was given three matches for France in its Davis Cup semifinal this weekend against Argentina.

The best-of-five series will send the winner into the Davis Cup finals in December. The other semifinal has the Czech Republic playing in Serbia.

France chose a hard court at an indoor facility in Lyon for this weekend's matches.

Llodra, ranked 30th in the world, was tabbed to play Friday's first of two singles matches and will face 33rd-ranked Juan Monaco. Gael Monfils, ranked 15th, is to play No. 28 David Nalbandian.

The doubles match Saturday has Llodra teaming with Arnaud Clement against the Argentine pair of Eduardo Schwank and Horacio Zeballos.

Monaco and Monfils square off in the first of Sunday's reverse singles with Llodra called on for the possible deciding match against Nalbandian.

France has won the Davis Cup nine times, most recently in 2001, and has been the runner-up another six times. Argentina has been in the finals three times, including in 2008, but has never won the tournament.
