MLB: Milwaukee 8, Houston 6 (10 innings)

HOUSTON, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Mat Gamel drove in the go-ahead run with a 10th-inning double Wednesday and the Milwaukee Brewers downed Houston 8-6 after blowing a big lead.

Ryan Braun socked a two-run homer and drove in three runs and Rickie Weeks added a round-tripper for the Brewers, who avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of Astros and ended a six-game losing streak at Minute Maid Park.

John Axford (8-1) collected the victory thanks to two scoreless innings in relief, helping to redeem the Brewers after they allowed Houston to erase a 5-0 deficit in the fifth.

Astros reliever Matt Lindstrom (2-5) absorbed the loss.

Angel Sanchez lengthened his hitting streak to nine games for Houston, which scored all six of its runs in their fifth-inning rally.
